June 20th/Happy 6th Birthday Madalyn!

On June 20th Mady turned 6. I can't believe my baby is 6. How did 6 yrs go by? It's crazy. I think every mom can say this, but I can remember the day I had her, the first time I held her, bringing her home...Oh man. Time goes too fast! The night before Mady's birthday we went to the Shrine Circus in Pocatello because I won 4 free tickets on the radio! ha ha. So it was a lot of fun. Mady had a complete breakdown because I wouldn't pay $20 so she could ride the elephants for 2 min. lol. so we got her face painted instead. The kids really enjoyed it and it was a good night. :)
The next day we all had the day off so we slept in and then all had breakfast. :) Mady got to open her 'big' present from us which was a tough choice this year. We got her a DS and it ended up being a great choice and she loved it. Noah got her a La La Loopsy house for all the dolls she got for her birthday.
For Mady's day she decided that she wanted to go bowling and go to McDonalds. It was a pretty great day. It's funny how trying to plan a fun day is so much harder with her then Noah....she is such a boob and so emotional that we spend half the day wandering why we didn't just stay home. lol. She is just a difficult little girl some days. But we love her to pieces. I can't remember what life was even like before she came along. She changed us forever; for the best. I will always be grateful to this little girl who made me a mom for the 1st time. I feel grateful for all the progress she's made over the years. We had so many concerns about her...and it's such a relief for her to get the help she needed and see her develop. She's an amazing little girl and we know she will come so far. :) (if she can just control those emotions! LOL) Afterwards we celebrated with cupcakes from the cocoa bean! yum!
Some things about Mady:
-She will start kindergarten this year. She knows all her letters, sounds and can count to 20 without help.
-She has her first wiggly tooth on the bottom. (and is pretty excited about the tooth fairy)
-She doesn't take baths anymore, but likes to take showers. She also sings in the shower almost all the time.
-She will start her 4th year of dance at the end of the summer!
-Her favorite toys are Littlest Pet Shops, La La Loopsy and Barbies.
-Mady is a TERRIBLE eater. Well....let me say that she will rarely eat what I make. HOWEVER if I steamed her a whole bowl of vegetables every day, she would eat that. some of her favorite foods are: white cheese, carrots & ranch, celery and PB, bagels and corn nuts! Oh! and dunky eggs (which she always calls 'donkey eggs' no matter how much we correct her.)
-We've had to put a lock on our treat cupboard due to her sweet tooth. She is sneaky and will get up early to sneak a treat.
-For some reason her nick name is 'Pete'. I think it stemmed from calling her crazy pete, from the Mickey Christmas Movie.
-She is extremely BOSSY to Noah. UGH! I'm constantly telling her that she is not his mom.
-Best way to describe our little princess....DRAMA! DIVA! EMOTIONAL! yep...that sums her up.
-We love her to pieces. She is such a fun little thing and her personality is all her own. She is my big girl though and loves to go shopping with me. She likes having "mommy days" and is a big helper. she's planning on helping so much with the baby, except for diapers. :) We feel very blessed to have her in our lives!

THE BIG PARTY!

We did their joint birthday party on the 16th. And first I have to say how completely spoiled my kids were! We are so blessed to have the family and friends that we do. Our kids loved every minute of it! Everyone was so great to help out too. Thank you to everyone! -This year I went easy and skipped doing cakes! The work I put into last years cakes was enough for 2 years! ha ha. So we did cupcakes instead. Mady chose Barbie and Noah chose monster trucks. (of course we couldn't get them to agree on one thing) so we planned early! Friday night we did most of the prep work and made the cupcakes. So Saturday morning all I did was frost them and it was super easy! Mady's were red velvet and cream cheese frosting. Noah chose chocolate with peanut butter frosting. :) I swear I would do these every every year! Turned out so cute and the kids were super excited about them. :)
We even skipped homemade lunch and bought fried chicken. SO worth it. This party felt like a million times less stress then last year! .

We had lunch and then did the kids piniatas. Mady chose a heart and Noah chose a truck. :
We did cupcakes and sang to the kids and then let them open presents. We were even lucky that it turned out to be a pretty nice day. Not real windy and not real hot! It turned out great and now my kids have a million new toys to tie them over until Christmas! lol. :)
I seriously can't believe I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old. CRAZY! Even crazier that in a few months we'll have another little one to add to the gang! holy cow! :) I'm excited to see what this next year will bring with all these changes. A kindergardner, a pre-schooler and a new baby! should be interesting! :)

June 4th/Noah's day!

I have to start off first by saying that a couple days before his birthday we all got to go to the Dr to see what the baby was. The kids were super excited! We all kind of thought it was a boy...so we were surprised! lol. Mady showed our baby pictures off all day and kept saying that she got to hear the baby's "heart beep" :). She's a sweetie! Through the whole appt. Noah was just afraid it would hurt me. Cute little guy. He was relieved when we explained it to him. All in all, they are pretty excited about this new baby! Anyhow.....I can't believe my 'little' guy is 4 years old! Time has flown. He is such a fun kid! Since both of our kids birthday's are in June, we do a joint birthday party and then let them each pick what they want to do on their actual birthday (within reason, of course. lol.) On Noah's b-day Adam took the day off. We woke up and had breakfast and he got a couple little presents from Mady. Then we went to IF to run some errands and then took a nap. When we woke up he got his "big" present. and boy was he excited. If anyone remembers...Santa got him a red 4 wheeler for Christmas. well it turned out to be a piece of crap. So we returned it, added some money to it and basically re-gifted it! ha ha. But boy was he excited. He has ran that battery dead almost daily!
Then that night we did what he chose to do...go out for pizza and go miniature golfing. It was a lot of fun actually and he loved it! Grandma Kelli even came. :)

We got home and had cupcakes. Jamie and the kids came over for cupcakes. He blew out his candle and said he was full. Then they went outside and they rode his jeep until they couldn't see anymore! crazy kids! It  was a fun day. :)

Some things about Noah:
-He is talking up a storm. People can't believe how old he is. He still shocks us with the things that he says.
-He will start pre-school this fall. He is very excited. We will put him in Kindergarten next year, but plan to send him twice. We really feel it will be more beneficial to him in the long run.
-We're still struggling with his sleep/nap schedule. ugh! If he doesn't take a nap he is a complete NIGHTMARE and then he usually falls asleep on the couch at like dinner time. So he usually gets a nap, stays up until 10:30-11 and sleeps until 9:30-10.
-He's starting to love primary at church, even though he has to sneak in 2 potty breaks at least.
-We still can't get him 100% potty trained at night. :(
-He loves to watch movies with Adam. His favorites right now are Transformers, Avatar and Hancock. He'd watch them every night if he could.
-He eats almost everything I make! Chili, enchiladas, bbq chicken...you name it! he's a great eater.
-He is NOT nice to his sister. We have talks almost daily about how we don't hit girls, and he gets to spend some quality time/days in time out.
-He's in gymnastics for the summer and loving it. He gets to run off some energy.
-He can ride his bike and seems to have better direction and control then Mady. Maybe it's a boy thing?
-He likes doing his "chores" (making his bed, cleaning his room, picking up toys... etc) to get marbles in his jar. He's saving up to go bowling. :)
-He still wears his shoes from the time he wakes up until the time he goes to bed. It's a FIGHT to get them off. he actually wears out every pair before he even grows out of them.
-He loves action figures and can play them all day...spiderman, batman, transformers...he's got them all!
We absolutely love this little guy. He is just a laid back boy. he is so fun to just hang out with and have conversations with. We are very blessed to be his parents. Both Adam and I think that with his strong personality and determination he will be able to accomplish anything he sets his mind to. He's very hard headed. :) It could work in his favor if he lets it. Although it may work against US in his teen years. LOL. we shall see! For now we are just enjoying his fun personality!

Easter, Dance Recital & Pre-school graduation

April and May also had a lot going on. :) We started off April with celebrating Easter. I love Easter Sunday. It's always filled with church, fun and good food. :) We had an Easter egg hunt with just our kids this year and we might have gotten a wee bit too much candy. LOL. They had so much fun though finding all the eggs and they didn't have to fight anyone. It was a good thing too. On Saturday we missed the hunt in Sugar City. We drove (fast) back to Rexburg to try at make it to the one at the park. We got there just in time for the kids to watch everyone else do it. :( so we left with sad kids. We went to Broulims to get a few things for dinner and guess what? they were having one! They got quite a bit and had fun! We were glad it turned out ok. We colored Eggs Friday night and then made banana splits. :) it was lots of fun. In April Mady also had her last dance performance. It was very bittersweet actually. It was her dance teachers last year and we are pretty sad about that. She's been amazing and made dance a lot of fun for the girls! Now we are on the hunt for another team we will like as much. :) In May Mady had her pre-school graduation. It was sad though. Adam got there first and sat in the gym where someone told him to go. I got in there and realized the parents didn't look familiar to me. by the time we found Mady's class in the library she'd already "walked" :( good thing another mom took a picture of her and e-mailed it to me. I felt like the worst parent in the world! ugh! But then they had an ice cream party and she was actually excited to start her summer of gymnastics and swimming. :) Mady with Miss April and Miss Dawn. A couple days before that I went on her end of the year field trip to Bear World. It was a lot of fun. I forgot my camera so I have pics on my phone I need to get off. I swear this pregnancy is messing with my brain! Mady loved it. We got to watch them feed the baby bears and they all got to pet them. It was great. :) We were also lucky that it was a beautiful day.

March - Disney on Ice

March was a fun month. Well...sort of. I felt like crap most of the month. That feeling where you have to eat every couple hours to ward off the nausea...but no matter what it's still there. Things I LOVED became gross. I'm not missing that at all. But my cousin won 4 tickets to Disney on Ice in Salt Lake and she wasn't able to go, so she gave us the tickets. It was a perfect excuse for a weekend get away. We went down on a Friday morning and went to the afternoon show. The kids LOVED it. and It was actually adorable. It's a good thing the tickets were free because the stinkin' souvenirs were INSANELY expensive. ugh! but so fun. We went to the hotel and checked in and then to dinner. It was a good night. When we got back to the hotel that night we took the kids swimming. They had so much fun. We brought Noah's life jacket and he just loved jumping in and being a crazy boy. It was lots of fun until some lady came up to us that was leaving and she said, "just so you know. those young kids in the other hot tub over there are taking there clothes off." AWESOME! luckily she told the desk clerk outside and they kicked them out. But seriously!!? People have no respect. ugh!
The next morning we took the kids The Lorax and to lunch and then we met up with some good friends at Temple Square. It was a beautiful day out and we had lots of fun. After that we went back to their house for pizza and letting the kids play. :) We went swimming again (minus the teenage perverts) and then came home Sunday. It was a really fun weekend to just get away. I realized it is not so much fun traveling at the beginning of a pregnancy when you are eating fast food a lot. ugh. That part wasn't fun. But the kids loved it and it felt good to get out. :)

February & a baby!

February wasn't a crazy month for us. I had my 28th birthday on the 3rd. So crazy. I can't believe I've been out of high school for 10 years. It sure doesn't feel like that long. This was before we went out for our date. :) We always get to spend my birthday weekend watching The Super bowl. lol. I'm just lucky that it falls on that weekend. :)
I just had to post this picture of Noah. He was so upset that he was stuck, but I couldn't quit laughing. I had to grab the camera before helping him!
Valentine's Day is always a fun day at our house. We always like making goodies and I love getting everyone little things. :) So we had a yummy family dinner, but this year we also had a little more to celebrate. :) This might be too much info for some...ha ha. so beware. But we had my IUD taken out the 2nd week of January thinking we would see what happens and that it's kind of time. Well it didn't take long and the weekend before Valentines Day I had a positive pregnancy test. I wanted to do something fun to tell Adam since this was the 1st one we'd planned and that I wasn't crying about. lol. It was kind of cheesy but he got all teary eyed and it was fun. :) the kids had a lot of fun surprising him with our "candy sign". :) We didn't tell them specifics since it was so early...but we did ask them if they wanted a baby. Mady said YES! and Noah said..."No. I don't really want one. " ha ha. too late now.

Mady fell right in love with her doodle bear. What a sweetheart. :)
