2 Months!

I know I should be blogging about Christmas, but I'm behind. So I'm going to do Hayleigh's 2 month Post 1st. :)

I can't believe this beautiful little girl is 2 months old already! Time really does go too fast. We are enjoying every moment with her and seeing her little personality come out. It's hard to let go of those newborn days, but at the same time it's so exciting to see all the new things she does and how she becomes more interactive.

So what's our little miss Hayleigh like at 2 months?

  • Weighs 9lbs 9oz and is 22" long
  • She's finally starting to grow out of newborn clothes. Her 0-3 months are still drowning her a little.
  • She is seriously happy 99% of the time. She is the most content little thing. She really only cries if she's hungry, wet or tired. Occasionally she will get ticked off...and when she does it's funny because it is like 0-90 in 2 seconds. ha ha. Her temper gets away with her a little. But it's usually resolved quickly and she's back to our happy baby.
  • Her crazy little tongue is still always hanging out. She definitely has her Daddy's tongue!
  • Her smiles are coming so much easier. :)
  • She absolutely HATES being wet. You wouldn't think a baby could be THAT sensitive to it. Oh but she is. A little tinkle can turn her world upside down. :) a dry diaper changes that almost instantly.
  • She loves her swing! She pretty much sleeps in it all day long; sometimes even taking a nap for 3-4 hours!! We had a slight tragedy this month...our swing DIED!!! it was a rough day. By that night I'd found one on a garage sale page online and we were back in business. :)
  • She loves her boppy pillow that my wonderful friend Heidi let us borrow. :) She'll lay on the counter forever and just look around. She especially like to lay on her belly on it.
  • She also likes her car seat. :) We call it the magical car seat because it puts her right to sleep.
  • She is an awesome eater. She nurses like a champ.
  • She is sleeping through the night and has been since almost 1 month old! The first night she did it had me in a dead panic. But we've enjoyed at least 8 hours every night, sometimes 10!
  • She is getting good at cooing at us. She loves to just lay on the table while someone talks to her. She gets so animated when she's trying to get her sounds out. It's like she's having a full on baby conversation.
  • She had her 1st Thanksgiving and was blessed by her daddy. :)
  • She got her hand and foot molds done this month and she smiled at the lady the whole time.
  • We get told quite often that she is a very pretty baby. :)
She is so much fun! She really does make our house a happier place. It's hard not to be happy around her sweet spirit. :) We feel very grateful to have her as part of our family!

Grandma/Thanksgiving/Blessing

Well we've spent the month of November just enjoying more family time. :) I absolutely love this season. It's such an amazing spirit to have in your home. The first week of November my Grandma flew in from Minnesota to spend a few weeks. It's been so nice. She's enjoying the kids so much and we love having her here. We've eaten way too many goodies! lol. but it's been fun. She loves cuddling the baby. :)
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was the first Thanksgiving dinner I actually cooked and hosted. Well....with a little help from my mommy! ha ha. We had both of our families here and it was just a nice, relaxing day. We ate way too much and enjoyed every minute of it! Watched some foot ball and took some naps and then woke up to enjoy some pie! LOL. Just what Thanksgiving should be. :) I feel so grateful to have our families close and to be able to spend the holidays with them. We are very lucky!
Thanksgiving night we headed out to do our black friday shopping! We left Mady and Noah home with Josh and headed out with Hayleigh! lol. It was different carting a baby around...but she was a trooper! She's such a good baby. We got lots of deals and about 80% of our shopping is done! The next day we pulled out the Christmas stuff and decorated ALL weekend. LOL. I love having it all done. I'll have to post pics of all the finished products. :) I love the Christmas decorations!
Each of our kids have their own ornament on the tree. I was so excited to find this one because it fit Hayleigh perfect! It's like she's definitely part of the family now! ha ha!
Today we blessed Hayleigh. We decided to do it at our house after church and it was just an amazing day. Everyone that was invited came. We have such amazing family and friends. Adam gave her such a beautiful blessing and the spirit was so strong. I'm so grateful for him. My kids are very lucky to have such a great dad. Hayleigh wore the same dress as Mady did. It was made out of my wedding dress 6 years ago and it's so amazing to see my little girls in it. :) We had a great lunch and enjoyed visiting with everyone!
Hayleigh is doing so good and changing every day. She's 6 weeks old and still our little peanut. She's tiny. she's still in newborn diapers and fits in newborn clothes. lol. 0-3 month stuff is so big on her! She's sleeping through the night!!!! like anywhere from 7-9 hours! I love it!!! occasionally she'll wake up at like 5...but usually sleeps until 8. She's an amazingly good baby! She's started smiling at us and it's so fun to enjoy the interaction with her. She's excited to see us and hear our voices. She's just beginning to get her own little voice and coos out. I love it. She has such a personality for such a tiny little thing.
She found her thumb one day!
Lot's of sleeping in her swing with her eyes half open. LOL. crazy girl. I just want to kiss her! These are the many faces of Hayleigh in a matter of 2 minutes! ha ha. Not happy about taking pictures!
Not loving a binky, but will take a finger!
A little more content after a finger-binky
Then some super cute smiles that are SO contagious!
We seriously love our little peanut! Mady is doing great! she is loving school and loving having Grandma Wilson here. She has been so excited about Christmas and we saw Santa at Wal Mart yesterday. she asked for a Fijit...seriously. Why do they always ask him for the dumb toys? Oh well! Right after Thanksgiving she ended up with strep throat and an awesome ear infection. Thank goodness for antibiotics. Too bad our insurance completely sucks and it costs an arm and a leg to do ANYTHING! grr. but I'm very grateful that she's feeling better. :) One night she was watching TV in Noah's room and I put Hayleigh by her so I could get Noah in the bath and this is what I found when I got back....she's so sweet to Hayleigh. :)
Wish I could say she was this nice to Noah! Those two are monsters half the time when they play together. Noah is doing great and loved seeing Santa this year. Drastic change from LAST year! lol. He asked Santa for Transformers. surprise surprise. He's been super emotional lately and struggling with his sleep schedule. Waking up WAY too early and we're struggling with figuring out the nap/no nap thing. It's a no win situation. I think he's struggled the most since Hayleigh came along. He's loving her and enjoying her... and I don't think it's intentional...but he's acting out a lot. Being more mouthy and just kind of mean. Maybe it's an age thing for a 4 year old boy??? not sure. but it's been more prevalent the last few weeks. It's sad...It breaks my heart. He's always been such a sweet little boy. He still has his moments...but we're having a lot of difficult ones right now. :( I'm sure hoping it will get better! Wish us luck!

Our Days at Home/Halloween

Well our little peanut was 3 weeks old yesterday. We are sure enjoying her! I don't think I could ever have imagined how much Mady and Noah would enjoy her. They just love the heck out of her. They are always kissing her and asking to hold her. It's very sweet. I feel like she is a lot of fun for everyone. There is something so special about having a new little spirit in your home. It's been 4 years and for some reason it was easily forgotten... but it's so amazing to have her here. I've wanted her for close to 2 years now, and for various reasons the timing wasn't right. But I'm so grateful for how quickly she joined our family once we made the decision to have a baby. She is such a sweet little thing and we are all loving her like crazy! She's starting to hold her head up and is giving us some sweet (probably un-intentional) smiles. :) But we're loving it.
Hayleigh's 1st bath!
Our awesome Dr whose delivered all 3 of our kiddos!
Our favorite kind of days!
It was a little different Halloween with a baby! We got a crazy snow storm a few days before, but luckily by Halloween it was all gone and like 60 degrees. It was beautiful. So we went to the Boo at the Zoo on Monday night. That is probably our favorite Halloween activity. We went with our friend Heidi and her 2 little kids Kaleigh and Bronx. The kids had a ton of fun and then we finished the night off with some Taco Bell. :)
On Tuesday Mady had 'crazy hair day' at school! She thought that was super fun!
Tuesday night we carved our pumpkins. Usually we do one for everyone in the house. But frankly, me and Adam didn't feel like carving 5 this year! LOL. so we got one for each of the kids and did super easy things! ha ha. It was lots of fun and they turned out cute.
It was a rough night on her while we carved pumpkins! lol.
On Wednesday, Halloween, both kids had school and had Halloween parties at school. The loved it! I remember those days being so exciting at school, and they had tons of fun. When they got home from school we baked and decorated cupcakes.
Heidi, Kev and their kiddos came over at 6:00 and we all went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We seriously have the best neighborhood for that. We probably get close to 150-200 trick-or-treaters, so it is just as fun to go as it is to hand out candy. Our kids love it. By the time we went to 10 houses Mady was ready to go home and hand out candy! LOL. But we went a little more. :) Afterwards we all came to our house and had pizza and handed out candy. It was a good night. :)

Hayleigh Ann

(WARNING: This may be a long post. But I want to make sure and get all my memories down. :)) Well our little peanut is here! safe and sound. :) I was getting pretty impatient because I had Noah 2 weeks early, and somehow you just expect that to happen again! haha. So when I went in for my 39 week check up and I was STILL a 3 but was 100% thinned I was a little depressed! ha ha. He told me to come back Wednesday. I'd been having contractions for a couple weeks, some that kind of hurt, but nothing regular or closer then 6 minutes apart. Well Wednesday morning I woke up at 6:00 with contractions and I had them until like 9:30. I totally thought that was it, but they went away! So I went to my Dr. appt at noon and I was a 4-5 now and 100% thin, but NO contractions. Our Dr wanted me to go up to the hospital and get my water broke. He really felt like it would be pretty quick once we did that and we were all afraid of a repeat of Noah, or worse. (Noah was born 30 minutes after getting to the hospital) I was afraid of labor not starting even if he broke my water. So Adam took the rest of the day off work and we walked the park for an hour...but nothing. so I went home and took a nap. :) ha ha. Adam was getting mad. Finally we decided we might as well go... our kids had the next 4 days off school and my mom was good at work to be able to stay with them. Plus the Dr and hospital called wandering where the heck we were. lol. Before heading to the hospital.
So we got to the hospital about 5:00 and he broke my water. Let me just say...the contractions were INSTANT, and painful, and right on top of each other. After 4 pokes we finally got my IV and the contractions were getting worse. I still wasn't sure I wanted an epidural. I did it without one with Noah...so I knew I could, just wasn't sure. So I asked for something in my IV first. Well...I never got that Fentanyl I wanted. lol. They checked me 1st and i was complete, which I kind if expected. Those contractions were AWFUL. Much worse then with my other 2; plus she was posterior. They called the Dr and told him to run. I honestly didn't think he was going to make it. I was ready to push whether he was there or not. Lol. But he got there...running! ha ha. I pushed 3 times through 1 contraction and she was here. Born October 17th at 6:11 p.m, 7lbs 14oz 19" long. and VERY swollen and bruised.
She couldn't keep her oxygen up right after delivery so they took her to the nursery for like 1/2 an hour and brought her back. Such a relief. I missed her already. There is something so sweet and spiritual about a newborn baby. :) It's such an amazing feeling. People were pretty shocked when we called to tell them she was here already. The kids were dying to come up and see her. So my mom brought them up after I took a shower. (the joy of no epidural) :-) She had this crazy lizard tongue hanging out from the begining! :
Well Adam stayed the night with me and we were hoping to go home the next night. But through the night her oxygen was down again. so the next morning they admitted her to the nursery. :( I just started crying. It broke my heart to not have her at my side. They did a chest x-ray and she had fluid in her lungs; probably aspirated during delivery. She slept most of the time. But we did get called a couple times because she got so worked up. The nurses said she had a temper and was like 0-90. There isn't much wimpering with her. ha ha. She is like full out ticked when she want's something! LOL.
So we ended up staying 2 nights. Adam was amazing and by my side the whole time. the kids were struggling not having us home. Mady was very emotional about leaving us there and then again about Hayleigh not being in our room the next day. It was very heartbreaking. So Adam went home each night to put the kids to bed. On Friday we went in the nursery to see her and her oxygen was off! YEA! so excited about that. They also let Mady in to see her, which she was pretty excited about.
She still had antibiotics to get that night. We also were waiting on some labs and a chest x-ray, but we were hoping SO MUCH that she would be able to go home. Dr Z came in that night around 7 and said we could take her home if we felt good about. (since I'm a nurse and know what to look for) plus her chest x-ray was better and her labs were fine. We about jumped for joy! We had things packed and the videos watched in like an hour! :)
We came home to some very excited kids and our wonderful neighbor had dropped off homemade chips and salsa. It felt SO good to be home, in our own bed, with baby stuff everywhere. :)
Love being home with a new baby. :) There's just something about the spirit it brings in your home. :) the kids are sure enjoying her. I will update our days at home here eventually. For now I have a baby to cuddle. :)
