Swine Flu, Twilight & funny kids!

So here we go again...or still! Another co-pay and $80 in prescriptions. We had to take Mady back to the Dr. We took Noah too just so he could listen to him and see what he thinks. They both seemed to get better, and then worse! They have horrible coughs. So we left there with an antibiotic for Noah, Mady and Adam. A cough medicine for Mady and one for Noah, and 2 different nebulizer treatments. Ahhhh! One of the nebulizer treatments we got was Pulmicort, $208 for 30 of them. Thank goodness for insurance, I only paid $25 and that Jamie has a nebulizer (the penguin) so we didn't have to rent one. When we went to the dr. though, they kept referring to the kids as having the swine flu. I guess they didn't test for that specifically because it's a $300 test, but they said this is exactly how it works. After all the meds, the fever goes and it just settles in your chest. So he's sure it's what we've all had. He said it's going around, everyone just deals with it different. It's everywhere I guess.

Noah didn't like the mask, he kind of freaked out!

Well other then the sickness in our life...here's an update on everyone!

Adam is doing good. Working. At least they're not sending him hom sick! He's starting to feel better. Since we're inactive at church from being sick, we're cleaning the house and shampooing carpets this weekend. We're having my mother-in-law and everyone over for an early Thanksgiving next Saturday...so I used that as our excuse to get the house clean and organized! For some reason a simple, "I want to get the house clean", doesn't work for him. So I've kept him busy. lol. I've been working and it's been busy at the hospital. There's always sick people I guess. Sad, but good job security too. The Twilight sequel, New Moon is Thursday!! YEA!! Highlight of my week. We have midnight tickets and my mom is spending the night with the kids. So excited... SO SO SO excited!
Mady- Well other then being sick she's doing pretty good. Missing a lot of pre-school which makes her sad. We drive in town and she says, "No! go this way!", pointing towards the school. She does so well that I hate when she misses it. But that's ok. We've spent lots of time together. She is such a sweetheart. I love my little girl; she's got such a soft little heart and a fun personality. I know I've said it before, but DRAMA! the other day in the car was funny. I turned around and said something like, "you guys stop fighting" and she just cried histerically and said,"No! It's not you guys! I'm Mady!" she is so emotional over things. I can't even sit her and Noah by each other for breakfast. They just antagonize each other. He will slap the counter or wave his spoon at her, which results in her crying and boobin and yelling at him. Then he'll yell at her. then it's, "Mom!" and he'll open his arms wide and slap his hands together in her face! she'll cry. naughty boy, he picks on her so bad.- We've had a rough time getting Mady to sleep in her own bed. We did this for 2 1/2 hours one night. We did the patient thing and put her back to bed without saying anything for like an hour. Then we swatted her butt a couple of times, raised our voices when we said, "Don't get up again!" it got the best of us (not my proudest moments). So we took someones advice and locked our bedroom door. She cried, "Mom! Wake up. I cuddle you!" I cried. But she went back to bed. The next night I prayed we wouldn't do that again. But she got up, jiggled the handle, knocked..."Dad! I love you." Adam said, "I love you too Mady. Go to bed." She said ok and ran back to her room. Now at night we'll here the pitter patter of feet, jiggle on the handle... she'll go, "uhh!" and then pitter patter away. Now it's kind of funny. But if we leave it unlocked, she will sneak herself in bed right next to me and sleep until I notice. Sweet little girl. One day Adam said, "My door was locked last night huh Mady?" she said,"Yeah. But Mommy cuddled me!" we laughed. She always crawls in bed with me in the morning after Adam leaves.
Noah-Such a funny, smart little guy! He melts my heart with his beautiful brown eyes, and sweet smile. He's such a lovable boy who always has something funny to say. Other then when he's antagonizing his sister, he is such a good boy. At bed time you can ask him if he's ready for bed. He'll say, "yea!" and grab his blankie and run for his room. This little boy is putting 2-3 words together. He can say yes, no, uh-huh, uh-uh, and yep! and he uses them all appropriately. He knows the difference between hot and cold. He can point to his eyes, nose, mouth, head and belly, and can name them all. He can tell you what he wants to eat, at least things that he gets regularly like juice, soup, cheese, milk, toast, banana...and so on. He'll say "snack" and get you a bowl. When anyone gets dressed he says,"Coat. Go car" and he'll run and get his and mady's coat. The funniest thing is, lately he's been calling me Randi. So he'll run through the house,"Ranni! here go." and he's into, "Mommy! Look. A cat!" or whatever he sees. He'll give you a kiss and say "squeeze!" when he hugs you. We feel like we can have an exchange of converstion with this little boy. He is fun. I can't believe that he is almost 18 months. Oh another funny thing is that he always grabs my earrings and says "bing, bing!" because we told Mady that her earrings are her "bling blings". I just love this little boy. One more thing, sorry but it was funny. Today he wanted one of my magnets off the fridge and Adam gave him one of his alphabet ones instead. He got so mad he started ripping all of the alphabet ones off and throwing them on the floor. Then he chucked one across the room, so Adam said..."Noah. you be nice". he started crying and running down the hall to his room. Then he slammed his door! all we could do was laugh. He's 17 months old! are you serious? Anyhow... this was a really long post, so if anyone is still reading sorry. this is for my own memories too. Sometimes I feel like it's so good for me to step back and look at all the fun I have with my kids. anyhow...hope everyone is well!

We made mint-chocolate cookies. Mmmm...Noah liked the beaters.

Just flipping through a magazine. Our big boy climbs on the tables and counters. He doesn't think he needs a high chair or booster seat anymore. ya right.

Tamiflu...crazy, (expensive) stuff!!!

So I don't have any pictures to post with this because it wasn't really a time to grab a camera. First, everyone is getting better in our house. Adam is coming along. He finally went to the dr on Thursday. Influenza. Duh. So him and both kids took Tamiflu. And for 5 days, which is like 1oz, it costs $88 a bottle! Thanks heavens for insurance and a $25 Rx...but still we did that 3 times, plus co-pays and 2 things of cough medicine, in a week! Yikes!
Anyhow... I actually read the insert thing that came with the Tamiflu, which I don't always do, but I was so unfamiliar with it. It said it could cause behavioral changes, especially in kids. I didn't put much thought into it and threw it away. Well the other night me and Adam are watching a movie and I hear this blood-curdling scream from Mady's room. I RUN in there, and she is running circles in her room SCREAMING! When I turned on the light, she started frantically pointing at her dresser and freaking out. Then she pointed at something on the floor and I started shaking her! She cried, I took her potty, laid her back down and she was asleep right where I laid her before I even shut the door. Weird. Like she'd never woke up.
So then the next night, I hear the pitter patter of little feet running down the hall at like 2 a.m. followed by her ever known screaming! She climbs in bed with us, but was like restless and freaking out. She finally fell asleep and I just left her. She started wiggling a ton and I told her to sit still or she had to go back to her bed. Out of no where, she stood straight up in our bed and just tried to walk across me and Adam towards the treadmill and wall! Like she thought she was on the floor or something. I grabbed her just in time, and I had to physically restrain her and lay her down! She was screaming bloody murder and fighting me. it was nuts! I had to shake her and wake her up. I took her potty, laid her down and it hasn't happened again! That is some crazy stuff! I'm waiting to see what it does to Adam. Hopefully he doesn't hurt me! Lol. I don't think I can restrain him the same way I can Mady!

Anyhow...Mady should be able to go back to school & Dance on Monday. She's excited. Me and Adam went out on a date tonight for his birthday. Aubrey baby sat which was nice. We saw Jim Carey's new movie, The Christmas Carol. Let me just tell any of you who might be thinking about taking your kids. Use caution. It is not what you expect and parts of it are downright scary and creepy. The little 3 yr old girl next to us kept telling her mom, "But I'm REALLY scared!" as she's covering her eyes. We thought it would be more like the Polar Express. wrong. Anyhow... it was a fun night. We got some Christmas shopping done at the dreaded Toys R Us, WITHOUT kids. That's always easier. Anyhow... no pictures this time. Will post some next time!

Better Late Then Never

Our Halloween Post is a little late! We've had some seriously sick kids, and that makes for really long, busy days! To be honest, Halloween wasn't all that much fun. For them, or us!! Lol. Friday morning Mady woke up with a raging fever. Her whole body was just red. Even her legs. So I took her to the Dr and they swabbed her nose. Positive for Influenza. So sure enough, Noah got it too. So for Halloween we just stayed home and made sugar cookies. We went to the trunk-or-treat in Newdale, because we thought it would be quick. Noah didn't even want his costume on or to go trick-or-treating. We mostly just held him and walked around. We were suppose to hang out with Craig and Bridgette, but they're 2 kids were sick too. So we all went home and put our kids to bed! It's been a long weekend.

Also, Adam's birthday was on Tuesday! He's 27, Holy Cow!! Happy Birthday!!! We went to take balloons to work for him and surprise him with lunch and just as we leave the house he calls us to find out where we are. He's at home! sick. figures. So we brought lunch home. We were just lazy last night, had pizza, cake & ice cream. We're going out on Friday, so I sure hope everyone feels better! Anyhow... here's some pictures of the kids on Halloween. Noah sure fit his costume that night...
Decorating Halloween Cookies

And don't worry, for those of you who got cookies, the kids got to keep every cookie they're germy fingers touched!

Such a happy boy he is! Just a preview of our night...

Mady liked handing out the candy, she was kind of stingy with all the candy!!

Kru, all warm and just hangin' out!

Halloween is near...

So in the spirit of Halloween, we carved our pumpkins for family home evening tonight. For some reason we always buy one for everyone, even though the kids don't help. We think it's cute to have 4 pumpkins out, and we let the kids pick what they want on their pumpkins. Mady wanted a smiley face and Noah wanted a kitty, probably because that was the only thing out of the list I read that he recognized. :) Mady was super crabby tonight, so she just wanted to watch a movie. Noah wanted to help though! He got right in and started grabbing the pumpkin goup and throwing it in the garbage. He was all about it and so excited. We've had the pumpkins outside for a couple weeks now, and every time he would see them he would scream, "Punkins!" So he had fun. It gets us all in the spirit of Halloween. This thursday my mom is watching our kids and my soon-to-be niece and nephew while we all go out to dinner and to Dr. Slaughters House of Terror. We're excited, we haven't been to those kind of things since before we had kids. It will be fun! Well...here's our "punkins"!
Noah's ready to go! Oh my little drama queen, this was all the excitement she could muster. Kru even joined the fun for a few minutes. The finished products!

PICTURES!

So we got the kids pictures taken on Saturday! I've never gotten their pictures done in the fall and it was beautiful! Now comes the daunting task of "process of elimination", since there are like 230 pictures. So I'll post some of the ones I'm trying to decide between. If anyone wants to leave feedback on ones they like, it could sure help!!! lol. Adam gets impatient with me... Hee hee! Apparently I'm indecisive.

Mady is more of a pro then Noah so her pictures were easy...Noah is hit or miss, but we think they turned out really cute!

So Guess What....?

Nope! We aren't pregnant....WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!!! (even better! j/k)
Yippee!!! We are super excited. Hopefully everything goes through smoothly. We sort of came to a pay off agreement but we got $8,000 up front so I think he's pretty serious; we also signed a contract. Plus I went to school with him and we were pretty good friends. He even dated my friend Melanie...hee hee! Anyhow, him and his wife want to use it as a rental, so good for them! He still needs to talk to the owner of the mobile home park and make sure they work out a good agreement...hopefully it won't be my luck that it all goes to crap. So for anyone who doesn't know, we've had our single wide up for sale with a realtor for a year! We ended our contract with him and sold it within 2 weeks. What are the odds? We didn't really make diddly squat, but at least I feel like we may be able to move on and really look at houses or building options! Yea!

Well, other then that we are all doing good, other then the fact that everyone in the house is sick at the moment. Work has finally slowed down a little. Some weeks too much, but I guess that's good. Means less sick people! Adam is still working his butt off at work, like usual. He works pretty hard for our family with very few complaints! Noah is probably the sickest of us all. Poor little guy. He's cutting teeth on top of the head cold and cough. So it's medicine, vicks, and humidifiers for him! He is not real crabby but very cuddly. He's still talking up a storm and coming up with something new every day! Sometimes it amazes me so much that he catches on so easily. He sure is a fun kid. -Mady has been loving dance and school! At school they've been learning about farms and animals. They've had real goats, chickens, roosters, puppies and a big tractor at school. They've fed the goats and colored eggs from the chickens! She sure loves it, and the other day when I was doing her hair she just started singing me the ABC's. I think this has been so good for her. Well, hope all is well with everybody! I sure need to be better at blogging! - Anyhow... I have a few pictures of the kiddos.....
Before school....she has such curly hair and the green shirt makes her eyes look like a beautiful shade of green.

So this is Noah's new favorite game with Adam and he NEVER gets tired of it. He says, "Dad. Up. Pider" Cuz Adam tells him he's a spider baby! He loves it.

So we went to Grandpa and Grandma Huntsman's tonight and the kids were so tired! I had to post this for Terri because she predicted they would be out before Teton. Well I don't think it was before, but it sure wasn't long afterwards. By the time we pulled into the garage, Adam, Jamie and I just sat there. It was so quiet without any screaming kids. Lol. We had to talk ourselves into getting out. They were pooped. Noah wouldn't even let me change his diaper; He just rolled over and was out. Such cuties they are!

Cozy night & Popcorn

So tonight we spent a cozy night in the house. Call me crazy but I like days like today, where it's cold, rainy and overcast. I know eventually I will hate it, but right now I'm enjoying it. We went and got Bajios for dinner (Yummy chicken green chili salad! Mmmmm...) we brought it back to the house to eat, then we got the kids in the bath and got jammies on. Afterwards I got out the popcorn maker that I don't think we've used since we moved here. So we made some air popped popcorn. It was pretty good. I'm not going to lie though, greasy-buttery movie theater popcorn is much better. This came with less guilt though. Mady got super excited! I don't know if we've ever used it with her before?? Anyhow... then we turned on the t.v. and all cuddled on the couch and ate popcorn, it's been a good night!

Mady was hilarious! We both wished we had the video camera! When the popcorn started getting high she put her hands on her cheeks and very dramatically yelled "Oh no! It's gonna blow!!!!" Me and Adam laughed so hard.

Just hangin' out with dad.

Afterwards both kids had a cup of milk and we put them to bed. Mady had school today so she was wiped out, which is nice! :) And of course Noah is our little character. I was holding him with his blanket when we were laying him down and Adam kept asking him for a kiss and saying I love you, so that he would say it back and all Noah would do was push his face away, point to the door and say, "Get out". It was just funny because Noah loves his daddy but he is so opinionated! He tells you EXACTLY what he wants. As we look back Noah has very few 1st words, it's more like 2 words together. The other day in the grocery store he kept yelling, "Mommy!" "Mommy!" Which is so cute until it is screamed 10 times in 5 seconds. When I said what, he said "I'm stuck!" Ha ha. Which is a good thing because he was in the grocery cart, he just wanted out. What a goof ball!

1st Day of School

So actually Mady's 1st day of school was on Friday and she loved it! Adam was off that day so we all went to lunch and then dropped her off. I almost started crying because she looked like such a big girl. She just gave me a kiss and waved. Didn't even look back. I guess you want your kids to be independent, but sometimes it's sad too. She even cried when I came to pick her up. The weird thing was that she peed her pants at school. I couldn't believe it because I can't remember the last time that happened. I think she was unsure of who to ask and where to go, so she just didn't! But she went to school today and went potty fine, so I think she's getting used to it. They've been learning about goats and she was so super excited to tell me how she got to pet it and feed it corn. Apparently they taught them how to grind up corn and feed it to them. It's so fun to see how much she likes it. I think it will be good for her. On the way home she even told Adam that she had a friend named "Annie", I don't even know if there's a little girl in the class with that name. It was probably the goat! LOL. Anyhow... here's a couple pictures of her.

So Monday's are really busy. She has dance in the morning and school in the afternoon, but she loves it. But boy did she go to bed good tonight. So here's a couple pictures of her in her "dance dress". She loves it so much that I have to bribe her to take it off. But usually once she tries to go to the bathroom and gets stuck, she'll agree that it's time to get dressed. :)

Since the weather is suppose to turn to winter in the next couple days, (45 degrees and snow/rain on Wednesday...what the heck?!) yeah... anyhow it was really nice today so we took the kids to the nature park and fed the ducks. Noah loves it, but if he holds the popcorn in his hand for too long the ducks will come nip it out of his fingers. The first time that happened he freaked out and about climbed Adam's leg. lol. But he got the hang of it. They love it and there were so many ducks out. I wasn't sure since it was almost October but there was tons!!

Seriously...look at all the ducks. Crazy.

So looking at these pictures and the upcoming weather forecast makes me realize that summer is coming to an end. I have mixed feelings because I love cuddling in blankets when we watch movies, making soup, having hot chocolate, and of course the holidays. But I also miss just being able to let the kids outside to play, the easiness of finding things to do with them, and at some point...I start to resenting cooking every night and I really miss using the BBQ daily. It's been really nice to have a big, private yard for the kids this year. We definitely enjoyed it and spent tons of time outside! Oh well... it will come again!

Mrs. Leatham

Many of you may already know, but for those of you who don't and that I went to high school with, Mrs. Leatham's (Amy) little boy was diagnosed with Leukemia last week. She's keeping a blog- www.ironmanjace.blogspot.com There's also a link off my list on the side. Reading this breaks my heart, it just reminds me that no one is immune to cancer. At some point I'm sure we will be taking care of him up here at the hospital and everytime I have a kid with cancer I go home and cuddle my kids. I realize how blessed I am. This just hits home so much more because it involves people I know... please pray for them and keep them in your thoughts.

Mady's 1st day of dance

So Mady had her 1st day of dance today. She loved it and she did suprisingly well. I DO NOT envy her teacher having like 10 3 year olds. LOL. Chaos, chaos, chaos... that's all I can say. She say's that we'll be surpised how quick they catch on, so I guess we'll see. But Mady likes "Miss Amy". The only thing is that a couple other girls had little tutus on and now Mady wants a "dance dress". So lucky her!! Her soon-to-be Aunt Bridgette found a cute one at Target and got it for her today! She'll be so excited to see it tomorrow. I'm sure she will put it on right away, so we will post more pictures.
Mady's in the black capris, NOT a dance dress apparently.

Chaos, Chaos, Chaos....

Also this week, Adam's sister Aubrey was voted in for Homecoming Royalty for the freshman. We went to the Sugar City Homecoming Parade and she looked beautiful. She is such a sweetheart and she so deserved it!
The kids hangin' out with Papa in the back of the truck, waiting for Aubrey.

I had to post just a few random pictures of the kids. I've been trying to get Mady to smile normal, instead she is dramatically posing. But whatever, she's cute. And Noah... oh don't get me started on mr independent.

So Noah thinks he can go potty like a big boy now, only not really. He just likes to yell "Potty!" like Mady does and run for the bathroom. But sometimes he just will not let it go until you let him sit on the potty. Maybe we'll get this kid potty trained before he's 3!
